Urban Mapuche

Urban Mapuche / Genealogical Tree: The Felling of Memory is a video work made from stereoscopic photography. The body appears as support and declaration: a presence located in the city, over the remains of felled trees, activating the tension between ancestral memory and environmental degradation.

Description

The work is built from a direct gesture: facing the camera in urban settings where felled trees appear. That wounded ground is not a background but a sign. Mapuche clothing shifts the reading toward identity and territory, body and memory, city and cultural continuity.
