Anti-advertising
Intervening advertising from inside its own language.
Anti-advertising is not a single product. It is a category of urban and visual intervention built from the codes, supports and promises of commercial imagery.
It includes PP Series, Poster Series and Advertising Piracy, where the commercial image is appropriated, altered and returned to public space as symbolic noise.
CONTEXT AND GENEALOGY
These interventions converse with strategies of détournement and culture jamming: appropriating a dominant language in order to alter its message from within. In Chile, they also relate to a history of practices that used streets, media and signage as territories of symbolic dispute, from CADA's actions to Lotty Rosenfeld's interventions.
This context does not claim equivalence or direct affiliation. It locates the series within a shared field of questions: who controls public imagery, how messages circulate, and what happens when commercial codes return to the city carrying another meaning.
