THE PLAGUE: Displacement of Painting
Expanding the limits of the pictorial format
The concept of Displacement of Painting refers to the expansion of pictorial language beyond the stretcher, the easel, and the traditional exhibition space. This displacement unfolds across three fundamental dimensions: domestic space, public space, and the natural/rural environment.
Through this approach, painting ceases to be an autonomous object enclosed within itself and becomes a practice in transit—one that contaminates, occupies, dialogues, and adapts to real contexts. It is no longer only about representation, but about installation and affect.
